What is Carbonyl?
Carbonyl is a Chromium-based browser designed to run within a terminal.
It supports nearly all Web APIs, including WebGL, WebGPU, audio and video playback, animations, and more.
It's incredibly fast—starting in less than a second, running at 60 fps, and using 0% CPU. It doesn’t require a window server (meaning it works in a safe-mode console) and can even operate over SSH. Carbonyl initially began as HTML2SVG and has now evolved into the runtime behind it.
