Print Edit WE

Allows editing of web page content in print preview mode. Editing a webpage before printing can compress the layout and remove unwanted content such as ads, sidebars, and blank pages. Any element can be formatted, hidden, or deleted. Print Edit WE provides the functionality to edit webpage content before printing or saving as HTML or PDF. Elements on the webpage can be formatted, hidden, or deleted, and text can be edited or inserted. Unwanted content, like ads and sidebars, is easily removable. Print Edit WE is the successor to the well-established Print Edit add-on. It is implemented using the new WebExtensions API and is available for both Firefox and Chrome with identical features and user interface. Note: To use the save as HTML feature, the "Save Page WE" extension (version 14.0 or later) must be installed and enabled. Basic Operations To start editing a page, click the Print Edit WE button on the main toolbar or select Print Edit WE > Start Editing from the context menu. A blue "Edit" badge will appear on the button. By default, the "Web Styles" feature is disabled, so the displayed page resembles how it would look if printed normally. When "Web Styles" is enabled, the page appears similar to its normal browsing view. The "Text Fragments" feature is disabled by default, meaning only entire text blocks can be selected. When enabled, individual text segments can be selected and edited, and line breaks are displayed. Edited webpages can be saved as a single HTML file, viewable or re-editable in Firefox or Chrome. They can also be saved as PDF files. Click the "Preview" button to see how the edited webpage will look when printed. Close the preview window to return to editing.
