autobrr

autobrr is a modern seed download automation tool. We can start by talking about torrent trackers (referred to as indexers below) and maintaining ratios. You need to maintain a certain ratio with most indexers. The ratio is established by seeding torrents. The earlier you seed a torrent, the more peers you can find on that torrent. Software like Radarr and Sonarr use RSS to find new torrents. RSS feeds are updated periodically, but the update speed is too slow to make you part of what we call the original torrent swarm. This is where autobrr comes into play. Many indexers announce new torrents on their IRC channels as soon as they are uploaded to the website. autobrr monitors such channels in real-time and grabs the torrent files immediately after they are uploaded based on specific conditions (referred to as filters below) set in autobrr. Then, it sends the torrent file to your chosen download client via the actions set in the filter. The download client can be any client like qBittorrent and Deluge, Radarr and Sonarr, or a watch folder. When your autobrr filter is set to send torrent files to Radarr and Sonarr, they will decide if it's what they want and then forward it to the torrent client they have set up. autobrr can also send matches (torrent files that meet the filter criteria) directly to torrent clients like qBittorrent, Deluge, r(u)Torrent, and Transmission. You don't need to use the *arr suite to use autobrr.
