What is Megairc?
MegaIRC is an Internet Relay Chat (IRC) client. It enables you to connect to IRC networks, virtual meeting places where people from around the world can gather and converse.
It features server and channel listings, full ANSI color support, audio and visual notifications, DCC file sending and receiving, message logging, and command-line functionality. The interface is multilingual. Color schemes in MegaIRC are fully customizable, allowing you to alter text and background colors, as well as specific text types, such as your own messages. MegaIRC lets you associate sounds (supporting mp3, ogg, wav) with particular events. It supports various IRC server encodings and, for anonymity, can connect to servers via Socks5 firewalls. Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is also supported.
Additionally, a plugin interface is provided, enabling you to develop your own modules (e.g., IRC bots, spell checkers, etc.).
