Psi XMPP Client

Psi is an XMPP client designed specifically for experienced users. It is highly portable and runs on GNU/Linux, MS Windows, macOS, FreeBSD, NetBSD, and Haiku. The program's user interface is highly customizable. For instance, it offers both "multi-window" and "all-in-one" modes, supports various icon sets and themes. Psi enables file sharing and audio/video calls. Security is also a major focus, with Psi providing protection for client-to-server (TLS) and client-to-client (OpenPGP, OTR, OMEMO) communications through appropriate plugins. The WebKit version of Psi includes some additional features compared to the base version: support for animated emoticons, (adium) themes in private and group chats, and the ability to preview images and videos in chats, among others. However, if you prefer the old-school plain-text chats reminiscent of IRC's heyday, the base version of Psi is the obvious choice. The WebEngine version of Psi offers the same additional features as the WebKit version but comes with its own set of pros and cons: - Better handling of embedded videos in chats on MS Windows. - Poorer integration with the system (it does not use system themes and fonts in GNU/Linux). - Supports fewer compilers, systems, and CPU architectures. - Stability issues on macOS.
