What is Dia?
Dia is a diagram creation program based on GTK+, designed for Linux, UNIX, MAC OS X, and Windows, released under the GPL license. Dia draws loose inspiration from the commercial Windows program Microsoft Visio, though it leans more towards informal diagrams for casual use. It can be employed to draw a wide variety of diagrams. Currently, it includes specialized objects that facilitate the drawing of entity-relationship diagrams, UML diagrams, flowcharts, network diagrams, and many others. Additionally, support for new shapes can be added by scripting simple XML files using a subset of SVG to define the shapes.
