What is Atak-civ?
The Team Awareness Kit (TAK) for civilian use or the Tactical Assault Kit (also known as TAK) for military use is a suite of software that provides geospatial information and allows users to collaborate geographically. There are many TAK products in the TAK family, all developed with government funding. The Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK, also known as CivTAK) was initially developed by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and is now maintained by the Joint Product Center. ATAK (including CivTAK) is an Android smartphone geospatial infrastructure and situational awareness application. It enables precise positioning, surrounding terrain intelligence, situational awareness, navigation, and data sharing. All Android variants of TAK are essentially the same and interoperable with each other and other TAK products. The military version of ATAK includes minor, military-specific additions.
