What is Atpad?
Portable and just 90kb in size, it’s not Notepad++, and it knows it—and that’s fine. A streamlined programmer’s editor with powerful features. *90kb UPX-packed! UPX also fixes Win10 bugs. ATPad is a simple Notepad alternative written in pure C and Windows API. Keeping Notepad’s simplicity, it adds many extra features like: Tabbed environment—especially useful for handling multiple files (e.g., logs). Fully customizable editor—colors, fonts, etc. Line numbering—hard to find a respectable editor these days without it. Word wrap—who can write long scripts without it? Recently opened documents list—ATPad stores this list by MAC address, so 'Recent Files' on a laptop differ from those on a desktop! But if you run the program from a removable drive and use files on that drive, they’ll always appear in the list, regardless of the host computer’s MAC address. Resume last session—pick up where you left off (all the above about recent documents applies to the last session too). Bookmarks—never lose your place. Show whitespace—tabs, spaces, line breaks. 'On-demand' document reload—instead of reopening them. External change tracking—stay informed when any currently open document is changed outside the program. Reload documents at specified intervals—you can set how often documents reload periodically. Email documents—each document, even 'Untitled,' can be emailed as an attachment. Snippet system—create, edit, delete your own text snippets and insert them into documents. Unlimited find/replace and undo/redo. Portability—ATPad requires no installation, runs from any drive (fixed or flash), and leaves no trace on the host when done. ATPad isn’t meant to compete with the big names and great editors. Each has its own role and function.
