Product Information
What is Bootsmann?
An open-source C++ alternative to Postman/Insomnia/Hoppscotch for simple HTTP REST API testing.
It offers a simple (yet practical) GUI and
basic functions for making REST API requests. Bootsmann is especially useful for embedded devices and local development where
low memory usage and fast response times are critical (it uses about 5-10x
less memory than 'big brothers' and launches in under a second). Bootsmann is written in C++ on top of the Qt framework, with no unnecessary
bloat like Electron, telemetry, cloudware, or other bloatware.
It uses direct system calls for maximum request speed—no JS-based
middleware, making it fast and efficient.
It uploads no user data or API keys, ensuring privacy and security.
No registration or login required. Bootsmann is available under the MIT license, allowing free use, modification,
and distribution.
