Product Information
What is Checksum+?
checkSum+ will handle md5, sfv, and cvs files (please do not confuse them with CVS files, as they can be any type of database file).
These files store "checksum" information about files, enabling this application and others to determine whether the associated files have been corrupted. You will often find these files in USENET newsgroups and other places where there is a risk of data loss.
As a result, the original distributors of certain files (usually large ones) will create and distribute some of these files so that the end recipients can verify the integrity of the files. This is particularly useful for multi-part files, for example. When attempting to join them, if one segment is corrupted, the process will fail, and you won’t know which segment is at fault. However, with these files (md5, sfv, or cvs), you can identify the problematic file and re-download it instead of having to download everything again.
How to use Checksum+?
checkSum+ checks file integrity via checksums (md5, sfv, cvs) to detect corruption and ensure data accuracy.
