Product Information
What is Infoscava?
Infoscava is a universal file analyzer, designed as a desktop application for in-depth file analysis.
Features:
File analysis includes metadata, hashes, text, hex, structured data (JSON), images (EXIF, GPS), Base64, entropy, and byte histograms. The user interface features a tabbed design, file browser, drag-and-drop support, theme switching, file watcher, keyboard shortcuts, and analysis exports. The standalone Windows executable (.exe) runs without a Python environment. Embedded icons serve as custom app icons (icon.ico is included in the repository). A standard installer provides a user-friendly installation experience. Right-click context menus allow 'Open with Infoscava' integration. Security enhancements include basic safety checks to prevent loading files from sensitive system directories. An additional search tab provides multi-match highlighting, match navigation, and live results. A plugin system enables integration with external tools (e.g., YARA, ExifTool, Sigcheck) and supports native Python plugins to extend functionality. Users can replace many traditional CLI tools by directly integrating them into the Infoscava GUI, enabling automation, custom analysis, and output rendering in JSON, HTML, or plain text—without altering the core application. Plugins can add new analysis tabs, trigger subprocess tools, and process results with custom Python logic. https://github.com/hejhdiss/Infoscava-sample-plugin-creator provides a sample plugin creator to easily build and package plugins for custom workflows or toolchain integration.
