What is Mapping?
MapPing is not just another cumbersome program for mapping a LAN. It's a lightweight command (only 681 KB) that you can even run from a USB flash drive, as it doesn't write anything to the Windows registry. MapPing is fast—I can't say if it's the fastest program for LAN mapping, but it certainly isn't the slowest. It also allows you to save its results in a TXT file, a CSV file, or both. From this page, you can download a compressed demo version, which is limited to detecting up to three devices in an IP class, scanning only the last octet, and doesn't support saving output in CSV or TXT formats. The registered version removes all these limitations and comes at an attractive price.
