What is Openbmap?
Radiocells.org is a community project dedicated to gathering information about cellular towers and WiFi base stations and displaying it on a map.
The project itself was established in 2009 under the name openBmap.org.
Since then, we have collected approximately 700,000 cellular tower locations and 10 million WiFi locations.
This data is available under free licenses: the cellular data requires a CC BY-SA 3.0 license, while the WiFi data is subject to the ODbL license.
A common use case for our cellular tower and WiFi location databases is geolocation, for which we also provide an Android application.
Other applications fall within the scientific domain, such as in-depth analysis of communication networks or cell coverage.
For this purpose, we also offer raw measurement data.
