Resource Hacker FX

Resource Hacker FX is an enhanced version of Resource Hacker: it functions as a patch that must be applied to the original Resource Hacker v3.6.0.92. What the patch modifies: Resource Hacker FX does not create tree nodes for each language. Typically, only one language is used anyway, making resource navigation faster. It replaces the outdated open and save dialogs with new universal ones. Additionally, some "Save As" parameters have been improved: the dialog now defaults to the current file's directory, pre-fills the filename, and automatically appends an extension if none is specified. If you close Resource Hacker FX after modifying a file and are prompted to save, you can choose the "Cancel" option. Alternatively, selecting to save will simply save the file directly without invoking the "Save As" dialog. By default, the hex viewer displays only the first 10 KB of binary resources to prevent Resource Hacker FX from hanging. This limitation stems from a bug in the Rich Edit control, which performs poorly with large texts. While using Rich Edit for hex dumps isn't ideal, it's the current implementation. The 10 KB limit is usually sufficient to understand the resource's content. If more is needed, holding the Shift key will load the entire resource. There are also minor tweaks, such as minimize/maximize effects.
