What is Lexios?
Vocabulary is a crucial part of learning a new language. Up until now, you could achieve this using flashcards or dedicated apps. It works. But it requires a lot of dedication and planning. With Lexios, we enable users to effortlessly learn vocabulary while browsing the web. Scientific research clearly demonstrates the advantages of this method. This is the foundation upon which our product is built.
What is Lexios and how does it work:
Users install a browser extension on their notebook or desktop (at this stage, we do not support mobile devices). We offer extensions for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. After installing the free extension, users select their target language and base language. Then, they choose their current proficiency level (A1 to C1), and the learning journey begins. While browsing websites in the base language (such as newspapers), Lexios translates relevant words into the target language. We select words based on context, the user's proficiency level, and ideal spaced repetition. You can choose the number of translations per page and also blacklist pages where you don’t want to see words.
