What is Video speed controller?
HTML5 video offers native APIs to accelerate the playback of any video, yet most implemented players hide or restrict this feature. This extension fixes that, and more...
It will help you optimize your video viewing by allowing you to make quick playback speed adjustments and rewind videos to hear the last few seconds again. We don’t read at a constant speed, and speaking is much slower than reading—there’s no reason we should have to listen at a fixed and (very) slow pace.
Once the extension is installed, simply navigate to any page that provides HTML5 video, and you’ll see a speed indicator in the top-left corner of the video player. Hover over the indicator to reveal controls for speeding up, slowing down, or rewinding the video. Or, even better, use the keyboard:
**S** – Decrease playback speed.
**D** – Increase playback speed.
**R** – Reset playback speed.
**Z** – Rewind the video by 10 seconds.
**X** – Fast-forward the video by 10 seconds.
**V** – Show/hide the controller.
If you prefer different shortcuts, want to adjust the increment values, or would like the player to remember your playback speed in the future, head to the **Settings** page and customize it to your heart’s content.
