Technically, Delta Chat is an email app with a modern chat interface. Think of it as email dressed in new clothes. Chats and contact data stay on your device. No address books, calendars, or other personal data are uploaded. There are no Delta Chat servers to upload anything to—privacy by design. Use Delta Chat with anyone among billions—just use their email address. Recipients will see a simple email and can reply directly using their own email app. They don’t need to install Delta Chat, visit a website, or register anywhere. If you send images or other media in a chat group, recipients will receive a neatly formatted email with attachments. If they reply with messages or attachments, you’ll see their media in the chat. Delta Chat uses your email account and provider of choice to send emails. You can easily change phone numbers or even operate without a SIM card.
