What is Monocles chat?
Monocles chat is a fork of blabber.im and Conversations, with several modifications to enhance usability.
Connection security and the protection of personal data are of utmost importance to us. Therefore, we have implemented encrypted connections between chats and servers, making it nearly impossible for strangers to intercept and read your messages. As a result, we have removed outdated cipher suites. These are tailored for monocles chat servers but remain compatible with other XMPP servers using current standards.
If that isn’t enough for you, end-to-end message encryption is available, such as OMEMO or OpenPGP. This ensures messages are encrypted on the sending device and can only be decrypted by the intended recipient’s device.
