This might not seem like a significant optimization, but over weeks of internet browsing, you could save around an hour—which is certainly not a bad thing. Additionally, Acrylic’s sliding expiration cache mechanism, simultaneous forwarding to multiple DNS servers, and support for background DNS updates improve your browsing experience independently of your browser. With Acrylic, you can also easily overcome DNS server downtime without disrupting your work, as you’ll still be able to connect to your favorite websites and email servers in such cases. Another advantage is that Acrylic is released as open-source, meaning it’s free to use.
