Product Information

What is Kubeblocks?

The name KubeBlocks is derived from Kubernetes and LEGO bricks, symbolizing that building databases and analytical workloads on Kubernetes is both efficient and enjoyable, much like playing with building blocks. KubeBlocks integrates the large-scale production expertise of leading cloud service providers to enhance availability and stability. Kubernetes has become the de facto standard for container orchestration. It leverages the scalability and availability provided by ReplicaSet, along with the rollout and rollback capabilities offered by Deployment, to manage an ever-growing number of stateless workloads. However, managing stateful workloads presents significant challenges for Kubernetes. Although StatefulSet provides stable persistent storage and unique network identifiers, these capabilities fall short for complex stateful workloads.

How to use Kubeblocks?

KubeBlocks is an open-source unified database operator designed for Kubernetes, providing a production-grade control plane to run, manage, and scale various databases, aiming to simplify cloud-native data management.
