Product Information
What is Marked?
Marked 2 is a previewer (not an editor) for Markdown, MultiMarkdown, and other text markup languages. It updates in real-time every time you save a document in your favorite text editor, comes with writing analysis tools, and is highly flexible. Marked offers document navigation and statistics, proofreading tools, multiple export formats, and more. It includes 9 built-in preview styles (including GitHub) and allows for unlimited custom styles.
For authors, it provides MultiMarkdown processing, supporting tables, footnotes, file embedding, and other MultiMarkdown-specific features.
GitHub users will appreciate Marked’s built-in GitHub Flavored Markdown processor, which handles fenced code blocks, preserved line breaks, and automatic hyperlinking. Marked is powerful enough to allow custom processors (shell scripts) before and/or instead of the built-in processor, enabling custom Markdown processing and the use of non-Markdown text processors.
Marked integrates with Scrivener, Ulysses, MarsEdit, Highland 2, iThoughtsX, MindNode, and other third-party applications, allowing you to work with Markdown and view beautifully rendered previews anywhere.
