What is Microsoft log parser studio?
Anyone who frequently uses Log Parser 2.2 knows just how useful and powerful it is for extracting valuable information from IIS (Internet Information Services) and other logs. Additionally, the incorporation of SQL functionality allows for explicit searches through gigabytes of logs, returning only the desired data while filtering out the noise. The only thing missing was a great graphical user interface (GUI) that could serve as a front-end for Log Parser and a "query library" to manage all the excellent queries and scripts people have built up over time.
Log Parser Studio was created to meet this need—enabling those who use Log Parser 2.2 (and even those who haven't due to the lack of an interface) to work faster and more efficiently to obtain the data they need without having to "fiddle" with scripts and folders full of queries.
With Log Parser Studio (LPS for short), we can store all our queries in a central location. We can edit and create new queries in the "Query Editor" and save them for later use. We can search queries using free-text search, as well as export and import libraries and queries in different formats, facilitating easy collaboration and the storage of multiple types of separate libraries for different protocols.
