Snapchat Adds 10M Daily Users in Q2 2026

Snapchat Delivers Global User Gains in Q2 2026
Snapchat added 10 million more daily global active users quarter over quarter during the second quarter, as parent company Snap Inc. also lifted its year-over-year advertising revenue. The company is preparing to launch its AR-enabled glasses.
Snap’s Q2 results reflect steady progress for the app overall. However, signs of concern persist around user growth patterns.
The platform experienced a reduction in active users across both the U.S. and EU markets in the prior quarter. In Q2, Snapchat’s U.S. daily audience stayed flat while its Europe user base remained nearly flat quarter over quarter.

As illustrated in the graphs, Snapchat regained a million daily actives in Europe. The vast majority of growth continued to arrive from the “Rest of World” category, where the platform recorded significant expansion in India.
This Rest of World momentum offers one positive signal for longer-term potential. At the same time, the slowdown inside key advertising markets creates ongoing challenges for how Snap generates income.

The charts confirm that Snapchat produces substantially higher income per user inside the U.S. and EU markets. In June the company reported that advertisers on the platform in India grew 10x over the past two years.
Even so, the largely stalled growth inside its primary revenue markets leaves Snapchat more dependent on expanding advertising opportunities and entering new areas to sustain revenue momentum.

Snap Inc. Revenue Climbs on Ad and Other Streams
Snap generated about $1.6 billion in revenue for the second quarter. That figure marked a 4% increase from Q1 and a 19% rise year over year.
In prepared remarks, Snap CEO Evan Spiegel stated that advertising revenue grew 9% year-over-year in the second quarter. Other revenue streams, including Snapchat+ subscriptions, grew 85% year-over-year to reach $316 million.
Subscription Products and Spotlight Engagement Expand
A major contributor to the revenue lift has been the Lens+ subscription. It grants early access to the company’s most advanced AR and AI features. The expanded Memories storage subscription offering has further supported additional revenue streams.
This subscription growth is notable. Yet fewer than 3% of Snapchat’s monthly active users are currently paying subscribers. The figure underscores that subscription social media is not a viable replacement for advertising revenue at this stage.
On usage trends, Spiegel reported that the number of people posting to Snapchat’s TikTok-like Spotlight option grew more than 115% year-over-year. Spotlight daily active viewers grew more than 20%.
The Spotlight gains have supplied Snap with another engagement channel. Instagram adopted Snapchat’s Stories concept in 2016, an event that previously slowed Snapchat’s momentum. Snapchat is now recording growth by offering its own comparable short-form video experience.
