LinkedIn Expands Creator Insights with Network Reach Data
LinkedIn is rolling out enhanced analytics tools to give creators deeper insights into how their content performs across the platform. The new metrics will specifically break down post reach between existing connections and new audiences discovering content through algorithmic recommendations.

According to Sam Corrao Clanon, LinkedIn's Director of Creator Products, the platform will now display two key metrics in post analytics:
- In-network reach: Percentage of views from existing connections and followers
- Out-of-network reach: Percentage of views from users discovering content through feeds, shares, or search
"As this rolls out globally, you'll see a percentage breakdown of who has seen your content based on whether they're already in your network or not," Corrao Clanon explained in an official LinkedIn post. These metrics will appear in the discovery section under post impressions.
Strategic Implications for Creators
The enhanced data provides creators with actionable insights to:
- Identify which content types expand their audience reach
- Understand what resonates most with their existing network
- Optimize posting strategies for different engagement objectives
Industry analysts tracking the update suggest this could particularly benefit professionals focused on employer branding and B2B marketing, where understanding audience composition is crucial for campaign effectiveness.
Document Post Format Update
In a separate but related development, LinkedIn has redesigned how document posts appear in user feeds. The new format presents multi-page documents as compact carousels rather than full-page previews.

Social media strategist Lindsey Gamble highlighted the visual changes, noting the streamlined presentation. This update is particularly significant as document posts reportedly generate higher engagement than other LinkedIn content formats, according to previous research.
The dual updates reflect LinkedIn's continued focus on enhancing creator tools and content presentation. As noted by like.tg's platform analysts, these changes align with broader industry trends toward more transparent analytics and optimized content formats across professional social networks.
Both features are currently rolling out globally, with full availability expected in the coming weeks. Creators can access the new analytics through their existing post performance dashboards.
