Snapchat Introduces New Ads MCP Server

Snapchat has launched its Snapchat Ads Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, designed to allow advertisers to create and refine their Snapchat campaigns using guidance from third-party artificial intelligence tools.

The MCP server connections enable the feeding of platform data into these third-party tools, which then provide more informed guidance on strategic campaign approaches.

Integration with Third-Party AI Tools

If a company has integrated tools such as Claude or ChatGPT, and its staff are more aligned with those AI assistance systems, they can now merge their Snapchat ads creation process into these tools. The goal is to offer more options for managing Snapchat ad campaigns.

As explained by Snapchat: “AI tools are becoming an important part of how advertisers analyze performance, uncover insights, and plan what to do next. But AI can only work with the information it can access. Without data from Snap Ads, Snap performance is missing from that analysis. The Snapchat Ads MCP Server changes that by providing an official, Snap-hosted connection between Snap Ads API and supported AI agents, including Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini.”

Access Controls and Future Capabilities

Snapchat stated that organization administrators will need to authorize each AI agent separately and set the level of access it receives. This setup provides a level of control over data sharing for each system.

“At launch, all approved connections are read-only,” Snapchat said. “When write capabilities become available in an upcoming release, Admins will be able to decide which AI agents remain read-only and which are granted read and write access.”

This development could enable agentic creation of Snapchat ad campaigns, although administrators will maintain approval rights over any expanded AI data access.

Broader Industry Context

Amid the rise of AI tools in the marketing and advertising sectors, more platforms are adding third-party integration options like this. These features facilitate increased flexibility by tapping into AI-powered advice for campaign decisions.

Meta launched similar MCP connector options in April, while TikTok and Pinterest also have MCP integration options.

Eventually, all platforms will likely offer third-party connection options that enable custom AI-powered management. This could potentially even lead to the automation of campaign creation and launch processes.

As like.tg continues monitoring social media platform updates, this Snapchat launch highlights the growing role of AI in advertising tools.
