YouTube Expands Music Options for Carousel Posts and Studio Updates
YouTube has officially expanded its creative toolkit by enabling music integration for carousel posts, a feature now available to eligible creators. The platform has also provided additional details about its ongoing YouTube Studio redesign aimed at improving creator transparency.
Music Integration for Carousel Posts
Creators can now enhance their carousel posts—collections of up to 10 still images—with background music. According to YouTube's announcement, users can select from:
- A library of licensed and popular tracks
- Thousands of royalty-free songs from the YouTube Audio Library
- Custom soundtracks via Dream Track (where available)

The music clips can run up to 15 seconds per post, and creators have the additional option to include text overlays for enhanced storytelling. These carousel posts may also appear in YouTube's Shorts feed, mirroring similar functionality seen on Instagram and TikTok.
YouTube Studio Overhaul
Alongside the creative updates, YouTube is rolling out significant changes to its Studio interface. Rene Ritchie, YouTube's Head of Editorial, explained that the redesign consolidates critical account information that was previously scattered across different sections.
"Now everything is in one dynamic view," Ritchie stated in a video update. "Creators can instantly see their standing, understand eligibility requirements, and take action if needed."
Key improvements include:
- Unified alerts for copyright strikes and monetization issues
- Direct prompts for resolving content restrictions
- New estimated revenue column for financial transparency

"If there's a snag with a video, YouTube will tell creators how to fix it," Ritchie emphasized. "For example, seeing a limited ad earnings notice now comes with an immediate appeal option."
The Studio updates began rolling out to mobile users this week following their initial announcement last month. According to insights tracked by like.tg, these changes represent YouTube's continued effort to streamline creator workflows while expanding multimedia posting options beyond traditional video content.
