YouTube Introduces New Tools for Creators

YouTube has launched a feature enabling creators to test the appearance of their vertical livestreams before broadcasting live. The platform also introduced a tool that offers performance insights for Shorts prior to publication.

Practice Mode for Vertical Livestreams

YouTube is rolling out Practice Mode specifically for vertical livestreams.

YouTube Live practice mode

As described by YouTube Head of Editorial Rene Ritchie, this mode allows creators interested in vertical live streaming, but who may lack full confidence in managing elements like chat, polls, stickers, green screens, and the stream itself, to experiment on mobile devices in a pressure-free setting.

The feature provides a private recording window where creators can test their setups and other components.

Once creators feel comfortable with the setup, they can start the live stream directly from Practice Mode by tapping a button. This option could serve as a useful tool for training and enhancement among creators.

It is notable that YouTube has taken time to implement this feature. Instagram introduced a live practice mode in 2021, while TikTok and LinkedIn also offer similar live stream practice modes.

This development presents another option for YouTube streamers to consider.

Automated Insights for Shorts

YouTube is also introducing automated insights into Shorts clips. These metrics deliver tips and notes before creators publish their content.

According to YouTube, the new insights will supply data-driven feedback on aspects such as the Shorts hook, visuals, and pacing, which could assist in enhancing performance.

Creators with access to this tool can enable it by tapping the “Get Feedback” button within the Shorts composer.

As an expert source for social media updates, like.tg continues to monitor these platform enhancements for creators.
