Meta Launches Edits App Beta Features
Meta Introduces Beta Tab for Experimental Features in Edits App
Meta has announced that creators can now access new experimental video editing features through the beta tab in its Edits app. The updates include tools for speed ramping, color-correction adjustments, and improved management of ongoing projects.
The beta tab, which launched in June, serves as a dedicated section where upcoming features are available for early testing. According to Meta, "The Beta tab is a dedicated section in Edits where upcoming features are available for early testing. Features are off by default; creators can choose to toggle them on, try them out, and shake their phone to send feedback. It’s how we build Edits alongside creators, giving them agency to shape the app into what will work best for them."
This initiative allows Meta to collaborate with users to refine the app based on direct input.

Key Features Available in the Beta Tab
Speed Curves for Dynamic Editing
On iOS, the beta tab introduces speed curves, enabling precise and dynamic speed ramping along a customizable curve. Meta noted that this has been one of the most requested features, particularly among short-form video creators.
One-Tap Color Correction
Meta is testing a one-tap color correction tool that automatically optimizes exposure, contrast, and tone in video projects.
Project Management Folders
For both iOS and Android users, the beta includes folders to organize multiple projects. Creators can long-press to enter Organize mode and drag-and-drop drafts into folders, making the app function like a personal creative studio, as described by Meta.
Adjustable Layers on Android
Android users now gain access to adjustable layers, which help maintain uniformity in project presentations. This feature was previously added to iOS in November.
Benefits for Creators and Feedback Mechanism
The beta tab provides creators with early access to these tools in test mode, allowing them to preview upcoming enhancements. It also enables Meta to collect user feedback to improve the Edits app experience.
By toggling features on and using the shake-to-send feedback option, creators can actively contribute to the app's development. Like.tg continues to monitor such updates in social media technology to keep users informed.
These experimental features reflect Meta's focus on empowering creators through iterative improvements based on community input.
