TikTok Returns as Official Partner for 2026 Toronto Film Festival
TikTok Renews Partnership with Toronto International Film Festival
TikTok has announced its return as the official platform partner for the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), while also serving as the presenting partner for this year’s Special Presentations program. The partnership underscores TikTok’s growing influence in film promotion and fan engagement.
TikTok’s Role in TIFF 2024 and 2026
As part of the collaboration, TikTok will bring a selection of creators to TIFF, where they will:
- Host premiere screenings
- Co-host post-screening Q&A sessions
Additionally, the platform will organize a special event on September 12 featuring actors Caleb Hearon and Zooey Deschanel, who will discuss their new film Trash Mountain and how audiences discover stories in the digital age.
TikTok’s Influence in Film Discovery
TikTok highlighted its role in film discovery, stating:
“Every day, creators and film fans come to TikTok to discover new voices, share their perspectives, and build communities around the stories they love. Over the past year, 12M+ posts about Film & TV were published daily globally, and 35% of TikTok users say content on the platform gives them the confidence to try a new movie or show.”
Previous research also found that 47% of TikTok users have discovered a new movie through the app, reinforcing its impact on entertainment marketing.
Expanding TikTok’s Film Festival Presence
TikTok first partnered with TIFF in 2024 and has since expanded its involvement. The 2026 partnership marks its largest creator presence at the festival, further establishing TikTok as a key platform for film promotion and audience engagement.
